What is it about this party that attracts such crowd?
The magic of the moon, perhaps.
Some time ago, a group of tourists found that the most beautiful moon was in Koh Phangan. They arranged a party along the crescent-shaped beach of Haad Rin to celebrate the Full Moon night. From then on, people from all over the world come to join the celebration...
As the evening progresses the beach explodes into a dancing frenzy as different m.c.'s take their furn on the decks. There is something for everyone here, trance, techno, drum and bass, commercial dance and reggae, no-one is disappointed. Jugglers and fire-eaters entertain the crowds as the night goes on and with the brilliant impromptu fireworks display, the party atmosphere is complete. After a few hours it could be time to chill-out for a while, maybe grab a drink or a bite to eat from one of the many beach traders and wade out or sit down in the warm surf of the Gulf of Thailand, pure, pure heaven.

Where is the Half Moon Festival?
Half Moon Festival takes place twice a month and it is located on a beautiful Tropical Island called "PHANGAN" Ban Tai Village, South Thailand. (Surathani Province, Gulf of Thailand)
How to get there?
From Bangkok's airport, get a taxi to "Khao San Road" walk in any Travel Agency and buy a bus or Train Tickets to PHANGAN Island.
Usually bus & trains leaves around 7pm, you sleep over-night and you will get to Phangan by the next day before 11am.
You can also fly From Bangkok to Samui Island in 40 minutes then take a fast boat (Lomprayah boat cost 250 bahts and take 30 minutes to Phangan) contact: www.bangkokair.com

Our advice is don't be tempted by drugs, this island has had a bad reputation for a long time and the open taking of drugs is not tolerated. The police are very hot on stopping the problem. Do not carry any kind of drugs to the party. Motorbike accidents are fairly common; So, always keep left, be careful on sandy corners and never Drink & Drive! Taxis and rental jeeps are cheap especially if you hire one in a group.
